Start with the actual status of each order

For each supplier, record whether goods are in production, ready for domestic dispatch, travelling to the receiving point or already received. A supplier’s promised ready date is different from confirmed receipt. When some goods have arrived and others are outstanding, set a time for the next decision before authorising final dispatch.

What should you compare if you wait?

Ask the team to specify storage conditions for received goods, storage duration with no storage or handling fees, quote validity and the latest point for adding another order. Establish how long your business can wait for the goods already received. Combining all purchases does not itself guarantee a lower final cost or arrival by your required date.

What may be charged again if you split?

Request two comparable offers: one shipment after all orders are ready, and two shipments with separate package lists. Ask whether preparation, packing, documents, collection, freight minimums and destination handling apply to each dispatch. Match responsibilities and delivery points across the scenarios. A price per kilogram or cubic metre alone cannot settle the decision.

Illustrative example: an essential order and a replenishment order

Suppose order A is needed to start work and order B replenishes stock. If you wait, compare A’s need-by date with B’s expected completion. If you split, establish whether each part can move independently with acceptable packing, documents and cargo acceptance. This example assumes no particular price or transit time; use the offers for your actual orders.

Write a precise dispatch instruction

List the order and package references authorised for dispatch, the items to hold and what to do with newly arriving goods. For each dispatch, identify the final packing list, approved charges and destination receiving party. Send that register and your need-by date to PersiaCargo for a wait-versus-split review. Clarify an ambiguous verbal instruction before treating it as permission to release all stock.
