The obstacle before shipment

In its August 2023 account, OOGPLUS described a 15 July assignment for 550 tonnes of steel beams from Tianjin to Bandar Abbas. The consignee, new to breakbulk shipping, hesitated to sign the fixture note because its terms were unfamiliar.

Action: coordinating with the shipper

OOGPLUS coordinated with the Chinese shipper, which agreed to sign on the consignee’s behalf and paid using funds received from the consignee.

Agreement on signing and payment

OOGPLUS reports resolving the signing and payment issue before dispatch. The account establishes that contractual step; it does not document final delivery to the customer.

Applying the lesson to purchasing and freight

Before paying for goods, establish who will sign the freight agreement and who will pay. If the supplier will act for the buyer, clarify its authority and obtain the contracting parties’ acceptance. Share the supplier’s terms and packing details with PersiaCargo to review the coordination needed for your order.
